How does Funeral Finance work?

Funeral Safe provides finance from £500 – £10,000 at 15.9% – 24.9% APR based on circumstances and subject to status over terms of 12-60 months. During your 3-month period you are allowed to settle your account in part or in full at no extra cost. After 3 months your chosen monthly payment plan will commence including the applicable interest rate for your finance agreement.

Representative Example: Loan amount of £2149.00 with a monthly repayment of £62.68 over a term of 48 months at a rate of interest per annum of 18% Fixed. This is equivalent to 19.9% APR representative. Total amount repayable is £3008.64.

The representative example and guidance repayment table above are reflective of the sum of the total funeral cost. Your personal circumstances affect the rate we can offer you which may differ from the representative APR and the guidance figures above. We will do a credit assessment of your circumstances when you apply. Credit available subject to status.

How do I apply?

• You can apply either whilst arranging the funeral with us at Chambers & Brighty Funeral Directors and we can help you with the application, or you can apply online before committing to using our services by clicking on the ‘Start application’ button below
• If your application is successful, you’ll receive a text message and email containing your funeral loan agreement. If you’re happy with everything in the agreement you can accept it via a link in the email
• Once you have accepted the agreement we’ll be informed, and once the funeral is arranged, we will send the funeral account to the loan provider. You then just need to make the payments of the funeral loan

What is Funeral Safe?

Funeral Safe is a specialist consumer credit company providing alternative, affordable ways to pay for a funeral. Helping bereaved families to spread the cost. Part or all of the funeral cost (£500 - £7,500) can be financed over terms from 1 - 5 years.

What is a Considerate Payment Option?

Someone applying for and being approved for finance is given 3 months before their first payment is due, with no interest charged during those 3 months. If the customer chooses to make any payments during this 3 month period there is no additional charges or interest. After 3 months (if the customer hasn’t repaid in full) the customer’s monthly repayments commence on their chosen agreed terms including the applicable interest rate as per the customer’s finance agreement.

Where does the finance go?

The finance is paid directly to your funeral company. You receive confirmation from us by email.

Who collects the money?

Funeral Safe manages all collections as part of the finance process. Payments are collected electronically from the Applicant’s bank.

Does it mean the family can have a larger funeral?

No. A family should always arrange the funeral they want and can afford. Funeral Safe carry out strict procedures to ensure customers can afford their proposed finance agreements without putting undue pressure on themselves.

Can any member of a family apply?

Yes. Our Applicant does not have to be your named client responsible for arranging the funeral. However, our applicant will be legally responsible for the consumer credit agreement with Funeral Safe.
